May 14-20 (York)

Hey York πŸ‘‹ Mid-May check-in β€” how are we all doing? Ready for a long weekend? Heck yes.

Our family is stacked with May birthdays, so this weekend is a celebratory one for us. We head up north, get eaten by black flies, and kick off the unofficial start of summer. A few brave souls even go swimming.

However you're spending the long weekend, cheers. I hope it's full of good food, good people, and at least one moment where you forget what day it is.

Happy Victoria Day πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Wellness Wednesdays: Why Parents Feel So Confused About Tongue & Lip Ties

Sponsored by our friends at The New Years

One provider says everything looks normal. Another recommends a release right away. Meanwhile, feeding still feels painful, exhausting, or stressful β€” and you're left trying to figure out what your child actually needs.Tongue and lip ties are rarely just about the tissue itself. Feeding challenges can also involve oral motor coordination, body compensations, sensory regulation, and positioning.

This is why The New Years takes a collaborative, functional approach. Through a Collaborative Functional Evaluation, an IBCLC, Occupational Therapist, and Pediatric Dentist assess your baby together, at the same time.

We look at the full picture β€” feeding efficiency, latch, oral function, reflexes, body movement, and oral tissues β€” so families leave with a treatment plan that feels clear, individualized, and supportive. One appointment. The full picture.

If you're looking for a community too, check out The Parent Pause β€” a free drop-in every Monday from 10–11:30AM.
