Summer festival season is officially here! This week brings amazing community celebrations including the massive Taste of North York food festival, the beloved Bread & Honey Festival in Streetsville, and the epic Grilled Cheese Challenge in Etobicoke (because what kid doesn't love grilled cheese?). From kite flying and Polish culture to Father's Day photo sessions, there's something exciting happening every day across the GTA. Plus, we've got you covered for PA Days happening this week with library activities and events across the region.

🍽️ Taste of North York 

June 6-8 | Mel Lastman Square, 5100 Yonge Street | FREE admission

A three-day community and food festival celebrating North York's diverse cultures including Korean, Chinese, Persian, Ukrainian, Latin, Italian, Tamil, Japanese, Caribbean, Indian and more. Features diverse food vendors, live entertainment, cultural performances, family activities, community fair with 20+ local organizations, and Battle of the Bands on Saturday 12-3 PM featuring local Willowdale schools plus Earl Haig K-Pop Club performances.

🍞 Bread & Honey Festival (53rd Annual)
June 6-8 | Streetsville Memorial Park, 355 Church Street, Mississauga | Friday FREE, Saturday & Sunday $5 entry (12 and under FREE)

Friday 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

The largest and longest running festival in Mississauga featuring NEW SuperDogs shows this year! Includes performers throughout the street all day, children inflatables, clowns, face painting, vendors, artisans, buskers and of course, FREE Bread and Honey. Features main stage music performances, beer garden, kids stage with family entertainers, midway rides and sideshow games, plus the Busy Bee Craft and Artisan Show.

🧀 Lakeshore Village Grilled Cheese Challenge
Saturday, June 7 | 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM | Lakeshore Blvd West (Islington Ave to Second St), Etobicoke | FREE admission

Ontario's largest celebration of grilled cheese sandwiches! This beloved one-day street festival draws over 40,000 guests with live music, classic car show, Kids Zone featuring SuperDogs show, beer garden, market vendors, and amazing food & drinks. Step into The Challenger Zone where local chefs compete for the title of Top 3 Best Grilled Cheese Sandwiches - winners announced at 5:00 PM in the Great Lakes Brewery Garden.

🎨 Unionville Festival
June 7-8 | 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM | Crosby Park & Unionville Curling Club Parking Lot (Main Street Unionville & Carlton Road), Markham | FREE admission

Annual celebration of local community featuring live music, local arts and craft vendors, inflatable fun, delicious food, retail shops, community performance groups, and activities for all ages.

🔥 HOT TIP: This year features a smaller-scale event due to Main Street Restoration with no parade, but the same high energy and community spirit. Full-scale festival with all favorite traditions returns in 2026!

🎪 Downtown Milton SummerFest
Saturday, June 7 | Main Street East (between Millside Drive/Fulton Street and Brown Street), Milton | FREE admission

Family-friendly festival hosted by the Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area featuring local businesses, vendors, and live entertainment! Lots of fun kids' activities including bouncy castles, rock climbing, Lego, games & more! Features food truck zone, beer garden, summer photo-ops, BMO Main Stage, Community Stage, and House of Chords Performance Area.

🍖 Thornhill Ribfest
